United Way of Baroda |

In India, the first local United Way organization was established in Baroda, Gujarat in July 1986 as a community-impact organization focused on health and human-care services. In fiscal year 2008-09, UW of Baroda worked with over 100 NGOs and invested INR 6,227,300 (app. USD 0.1 million) in the local community.
United Way of Baroda has provided both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation support to the earthquake affected communities in Kutch and flood affected areas in Baroda and other parts of Gujarat. Key projects include construction of 526 houses with sanitation units and power supply, 73 work sheds for handloom weavers, three community centers and four schools, amongst others.

United Way Mumbai |

United Way Mumbai, established in the year 2002, seeks to leverage corporate, employee and leadership talent for community development. United Way Mumbai has identified four areas of attention and investment: Children and Education, Youth and Vocational Training, Women Empowerment, Governance and Civic Issues.
United Way Mumbai has been instrumental in the long-term disaster relief following the 2004 Tsunami. Top projects include the provision of collectively-owned fishing boats for restoration of livelihoods and the construction of permanent houses for 273 families with advanced sanitation and other facilities.
For the fiscal year 2008-2009, United Way Mumbai’s total income was Rs. 141,907,192 (approx. USD 2.8 million).

United Way of Delhi was established on 26, September 2008 and is governed by a volunteer Board that has senior representation from organizations like AT&T, Agilent Technologies, Amway, American Express, Cargill India, Carlson Hotels, Hughes Networks, Raytheon, Navatar Group and Corporate Flyers and the NGO, Stree Shakti.
United Way of Delhi has chosen to focus on the building blocks for a good life: Education, Income and Health.

United Way of Hubli-Dharwad (UW of H-D) was established in November 2008 with the generous seed-funding contribution by the Deshpande Foundation. The Governing board, comprising of eminent professionals and business leaders from the local community, has decided to focus on the three areas of health, education and livelihood.
